Dreams do come true

Today was incredible!
It's an incredible feeling when you're experiencing something that you never thought you would. But to feel that more than once in just one day, I am so blessed.
After a massive day yesterday we took the opportunity to have a bit of a sleep in. Housekeeping knocking on the door prompted us that it was probably a good idea to get a wriggle on.
We are staying only a few blocks from Central Park so we set out in to check out this incredible park that seems so out of place in the big city. As expected (after researching on TripAdvisor) we were accosted by hawkers trying to sell pedicab tours around the park. But I had my heart set on a horse and carriage ride. So the girls and I had a bit of a wander around. It was gorgeous, especially as there were still remnants of the snow fall a few days ago.

Jamei suggested we go into the Central Park Zoo. So off we went after a little bit of a protest from Boston who was keen to go to the museum. We were all glad we did though. It didn't take long to go through and was well set out. We saw seals perform and a beautiful red panda - which a staff member joked with Boston she might have been mistaken for due to her fiery red hair.

There were seals, bears, monkeys, lemurs - with a staff member at each exhibit to answer questions or tell you something special about the animal it was very enjoyable. In the tropics exhibit it was an enclosed area where a variety of birds were able to move around as they please. I've never seen the girls move so fast when a couple of large birds flew overhead very nearby their heads. There was also a beautiful peacock wandering about too.

We finished up by having some lunch and realised we actually have hardly eaten much. Too busy to get hungry. Then we headed off in search of a horse and carriage. It was a pinch yourself moment as we traveled through the park and our driver gave us some great facts and info about the park. The girls smiled as they heard about spots they'd seen in Enchanted, Friends, Home Alone and so many more.

We were dropped off right near the apartment where John Lennon was shot and I was surprised to hear Yoko still lives there (didn't fact check but was a cool bit of info). We gave Emma the horse a carrot before  heading a few more blocks away to go to American Museum of Natural History. We all loved the Night at the Museum movies and wanted to meet dumdum

Although we all secretly wanted the exhibits to come alive, we knew that life didn't quite imitate art. In saying that the animals where extremely life like. We didn't anticipate the museum to be as big as it was. If it wasn't for Boston with the map and Jamei's sense of direction we might still be in there.

By now we're ready to crash but knowing we had the Knicks game that night we came home for an afternoon nap. Lucky I set an alarm. We woke up and headed downtown to the iconic Madison Square Gardens to see the Knicks take on Utah Jazz. My 2nd dream come true for the day. We wanted to be there early to soak up the atmosphere, eat and get settled in. We really had great seats and my eyes welled up as I sat there watching everyone file in. Were lucky enough to see them go into overtime and win!!! You should have seen the entertainment and the incredible tshirt blaster which shot multiple shirts into the crowd at once.

The place was electric by the end of the game. And when it came time to leave it was surprisingly fast. Considering the amount of people in there we were out in less than 5 mins. Impressive. We walked for a few blocks but decided to jump in a cab to get home so we could sleep sooner.
Knee was certainly put through its paces with so much walking. It's holding up just fine.
What will tomorrow bring?
