It was there I got a better sense of just what an incredible creation Central Park truly is.
Got some cool pics taken in the same set up as that iconic picture of the workmen on a metal beam suspended many floors above the city.
After that we thought we'd head down to Times Square. Although this wasn't far from our hotel we hadn't actually stopped there to really take it all in. Hoping Jamei and Boz post the great videos we took there. It's got such a great buzz about it. Also there was a pretty cool Disney store on Time Square too. It was to prepare us for the Disneyworld leg of our journey. Our princess who helped us was awesome as she shared some great knowledge of our future destination. No purchases there...............we are saving ourselves.
We then popped into M&M World and had a blast. There was so many cool things in there it was hard to resist. The best thing there was personalised m&ms. Seriously. You choose what you want including if you want your own face on there. Choose your colours then in 60 secs they are out and all printed. For kids with uncommon names to get anything personalised is pretty spesh.
After a few other vital purchases we were ready to head over to Hoboken New Jersey where Carlos Bakery is. For those who aren't aware it's the home of the program Cake Boss. Google it.
We were warned that there is always a huge line and Friday's are the busiest. It must have been that we rubbed the testicles of the bull cause as we arrived there wasn't a line at all - such luck!. We just walked right in.
We got cannolis, cream puffs, cookies & more. All bundled up in boxes. We enjoyed a short ferry ride across the Hudson River before hitting up both Adidas & Nike. Jamei was in her Adidas shirt and was mistaken for a staff member 3 times. She just must have that look about her.
Nike in particular was very impressive as it was 5 floors high and had more stuff than you can believe. We went straight to the 5th floor to check out the basketball gear and shoes. The only thing that has been concerning today is the ongoing chatter about an impending snow storm. With suggestions we stock up on snacks and food cause tomorrow we are likely to be indoors all day.
We weren't taking any chances so we skipped plans on maybe doing a Broadway show and grabbed some pizza for dinner and retreated indoors. Jamei and I popped out to grab some snacks and food for tomorrow just in case - although Jamei spent far too much time in the 'candy' aisle.
So we nestle in for the night and watching the updates on tv they've named the snow storm Jonah. Fingers crossed for a safe and happy tomorrow!

Hey Hannah. Great to follow your adventure via the blog. I note you have realised that you need to live there for a bit to tick off everything you would like to do. I am hoping that the blizzard doesn't stymie your plans for long.
ReplyDeleteWe are having an incredible time and have spent the day inside. It's pretty gnarly out there. It is starting to subside which is promising to do a couple more things tomorrow. Apparently in the top 5 storms ever in NYC. Hahaha. Glad you're enjoying the blog. Thanks for touching base
DeleteHi lovely our boys are in NY at present.
DeleteHopefully you'll negotiate the blizzards to explore more.
